"Why I think ed should pick me for #ednyc … #EDNYC Ed please pick me :) I’ve been a fan of yours for a while and i have so much respect for you as an artist. You keep yourself so grounded and its obvious how grateful you are for your success, as you should be after all those years of hard work. But do you realize what you;re actually doing? You are revolutionizing music for our generation. In the age of huge productions/sets, you walk out on stage, introduces yourself (as if we don’t know who you are ;P ) and uses only your voice, guitar, and loop pedal. You have the respect and awe of crowds in the thousands to the point where you can create a silence in which a pin drop could be heard. What other “top 40” artist can say that? You sings about real issues like drugs, prostitution, while also unknowingly romancing millions of girls not only in the US but all over the world. Your music speaks to the soul not just your heart and moves you in a way that you will never be the same again. Your music makes you feel something more than just whether you like it or not. It opens your eyes to a whole new kind of experience. Your talent and sheer presence is enough to impress the biggest names in music today (you do realize you were nominated for a grammy your first year out in the US AND performed with elton john?), yet your sense of humility and humbleness is one to be praised and celebrated. You knows who you are and are damn proud of it. This inspires me each day to learn to accept my flaws and celebrate my strengths. You had a dream once and you worked relentlessly every day despite what others thought to achieve it and look where it got you! So therefore I can’t help but believe that anything is possible. Like so many others ive sacrificed so much to make sure i could get to see him even if it was far away or for only a moment. ANd regardless of what the consequences of those sacrifices may be, i will NEVER regret any of them. I would do it all again in a heartbeat just for the chance to see you and hear you play because at the end of the day just 5 minutes in your presence is enough to change a person forever." - me, myself, my heart, and soul.
